Healing Schedule

Each Permanent Makeup procedure may heal and react differently from each other. Here are the average day-to-day stages to give you an idea of what you may experience during your healing process.

Eyebrows

Day 1 to 3: You will experience some tenderness, swelling and maybe some redness surrounding the brow area. Color and width of eyebrows will appear about 20-40% darker and thicker. Bodily fluids may ooze the first 2 days. Apply balm, don’t touch otherwise. The procedure site will start to dry out and form a hard scab.

Day 3 to 7: The scab will begin to dry out, crack and lift in certain areas. Itching may occur. You’ll notice pieces of scab falling off, this is normal. It will appear as if you’ve lost tremendous amount of color in that area, but remember, it’s still healing. Let the exfoliation process take its natural course before judging how much color was lost. Keep applying balm.

Day 8 to 10: Exfoliation process is usually complete at this time, for some, it may take up to 14 days. The scab should be completely peeled off and the appearance of what color is exposed at that time will still appear lighter and slightly reddish due to skin still undergoing healing. The true healed color will reveal itself in 4 to 6 weeks.

Eyeliner

Day 1 to 3: Immediately after the procedure, you will look as if you had cried excessively or have some bad allergies. Depending on the thickness of the liner and/or sensitivity of your skin, you will likely to be swollen for a period of 2 to 3 days, maybe longer for some. You may experience a burning sensation and tenderness. Your lids will feel heavy and your eyes may be red from constant tearing during the procedure. If you wear contact lenses, it may be best to allow the eyes to rest for a few days. The liner will look dramatically darker and thicker. You may also experience some oozing for the first couple of days which may cause your eyelashes to stick together. Gently rinse with lukewarm water or use a clean damp q-tip to clean the area.

Day 4 to 5: The swelling and tenderness sensation should subside at this time. Itching sensation may occur. A hard scab has developed over the procedure site. Eye tissue may feel tight and somewhat drawn. Scabbing may start to shed. Exfoliation period begins.

Day 6 to 7: Scab should be fully peeled off by this day or may prolong up to 14 days for some. The appearance of your eyeliner will look dramatically lighter and thinner. Allow the skin to reach its full healing term up to 4 to 6 weeks to see the end results.

All permanent makeup procedures may require a touch up to make necessary adjustment to the healed results. This is best carried out in 6 to 8 weeks.
