What is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattoo or micro pigmentation, is the process of skillfully depositing tiny amount of pigment into the dermis layer of the skin to enhance features such as eyebrows, eyeliners and lips. The results are beautiful, immediate and permanent!!
Who is the ideal candidate for permanent makeup?
Ideal candidate can be anyone, young adults or aging seniors, male or female, who want professionally shaped, eyebrows, eyeliner and lips, and more:
- Busy women on the go: permanent makeup makes getting ready easier.
- Athletes or active people who frequently sweat: permanent makeup never washes off.
- Women who wear heavy makeup: permanent makeup can act as a base and still look good without cosmetics.
- Men and women experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy or alopecia: permanent makeup can simulate hair stroke on the area.
- Clients with poor eyesight/ shaky hands
How long does the procedure take?
Time will vary with each individual and area being covered and whether it’s your first time or for a touch-up. The total time to be expected at our studio for your first session (including short consultation, local anesthetic, color selection, procedure and finishing up with post instructions) is about two hours.
What's the recovery time?
You can go back to work right after your procedure. It’s normal to have some swelling on the area, and/or some scabbing on eyebrows. It will initially look 20-30% bolder than what the final result will be after about a week when it settles in. It will take about six days for the skin to completely heal.
Is it painful?
Everyone experiences pain differently, but most of our clients say the pain is mild to moderate, comparable to eyebrow tweezing. We’re here to make your experience as pain-free as possible. We use effective topical anesthetic that numbs the skin, and they are happy to apply as much as needed to keep you comfortable.
Is permanent makeup safe?
Absolutely. Beauty Sketch is immaculate, and we follow the strictest sanitation and safety standards, using only single-use, sterilized needles and parts. We use pigments that have MSDS (Material safety Data Sheet)
How long will permanent makeup last?
Permanent makeup is long-lasting and will slowly fade over the course of 1-3 years. It depends on skin type, aftercare, sunexposure and other factors. Darker colors, such as black eyeliner, will last the longest. Natural, delicate colors are more vulnerable to the effects of sun, swimming and your skin’s natural emollients.
Can I wear makeup after the procedure?
It is essential to keep the procedure area clean and free of bacteria, therefore, please avoid put other types of makeup on top of your permanent makeup for 1 week after the procedure. However you can wear makeup on areas where permanent makeup was not done. Please look at post instructions carefully after procedures.
